My first collaboration with a friend.
It was so cool to have a relaxed writing session together (with a lot of coffee - listen to the lyrics!) :D
We turned a situation my friend told me about into a song. I said I'd write her a smash hit and so we started playing, writing lyrics and ended up recording backing vocals a few days later. Her first time in front of a singing mic! All in all, it was therapeutic as much as it was fun!

BIO
The project name Slow Hype encompasses a lot that makes me who I am as an artist. I get hyped easily and I plunge headfirst into music making as soon as a new idea flickers in my mind. However, I've been way too cautious and a perfectionist over the past 10 years or so where I didn't share any of my music because I thought it wouldn't be 'competitive' enough. What's even my genre? A question I asked myself many times. I now know that it's okay and even good to create something unique: I call it 'dreamo pop'.
In retrospect, I've always made dreamo pop. Dreaming away and inventing my own world has been my way to cope with (or escape) reality - all the human experiences you make growing into an adult.
Early on, when learning the guitar at the age of seven and later, learning the keyboard at the age of 14, I realized that playing music that already exists isn't fullfilling to me. So I started writing songs at the age of 15, but kept them mostly to myself. I didn't 'feel' like I was a musician back then. So I followed another career path entirely. But they were always there: my songs. And they grew in numbers! They were my escape and my emotional journal.
In the past few years I've grown as a songwriter, singer and producer. There's always doubt - I have doubted my skills many times. It makes me work even harder day by day - I love to make music and I need to make music. That's why I am a musician. My music is my inner world come to life and brought to you.
If only a handful of people feel what I felt or understand what I'm trying to say with a song, then that's success to me.
